South Coast and Tablelands, Regional Caving weekend at Wee Jasper - 1st & 2nd July 2017

On the 1st and 2nd July 2017, over 50 Venturers, Rovers and leaders converged on the picturesque town of Wee Jasper for 2 days of Caving.

We camped at Fitzpatrick trackhead with temperatures ranging from a chilly -7 at night to 12 during the day. The caves were however a much nicer temperature in the mid to late teens.

Dip Series of Caves

The Dip series of caves was where the beginners started, with a walk in through a cave known as the "Rubbish Tip". There were also a number of vertical holes (Daylight and Gong), from which to abseil into this cave series.

Signature Cave and Dog Leg

The Signature Cave is an easy walk in and perfect for those new to Caving with a few levels and many passages and holes to crawl through and explore. Dog leg cave is for those feeling a bit more adventurous as it requires a bit of crawling
