Ikea Challenge 18th Aug 2018

1st Cobargo Scout Group arranged an Ikea Engineering Challenge. 1st Cobargo Scouts joined with Scouting friends from 1st Cooma, NSW Lones Scouts and Riovers, 1st Wattlegrove and ACT Trident Sea Scout Troops in a modern day orienteering and construction challenge. Scouts were required to navigate their way around the giant Ikea store, locate a specified item of furniture and then construct it in small groups of 4-6 youth. The finished items were then donated to the Salvation Army. Teams were judged on teamwork and quality by representatives from the Salvos and Ikea.

Sci Scouts

On the Sunday we attended Sci Scouts, and got involved in the many hands on Science based activities. Such as Water and rubbish recycling, Engineers without borders, robots, Geodesic dome building, Solar car, Marble maze, and even built a mousetrap car.
